Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Finger Chooser app ("the App") and the website fingerchooser.com ("the Website") handle information. It applies to the App on iOS, iPadOS and Android, including the editions published as "Finger Chooser: Teams & Dares" and "Finger Chooser: Spin the Wheel".

The App and the Website are developed and published by Anas Hafidi ("we", "us", "our"). If you have any question about this policy, write to us at support@fingerchooser.com.

1. Summary

  • You do not need an account to use the App or the Website, and we do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
  • The App contains no advertising, no analytics tools and no tracking across other apps or websites.
  • Your settings, saved wheels and the dares and questions you write are stored on your device. They are not sent to us.
  • If you buy the optional one-time unlock, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google. Our purchase service provider, RevenueCat, receives your purchase history and an anonymous identifier so the purchase can be verified and restored. We never receive your payment details.
  • The Website has no ads and no tracking cookies. Its tools run in your browser, and what you type is never sent to us.

2. Information stored on your device (App)

To work, the App keeps the following on your device, in the App's own storage:

  • your settings (for example sound, vibration, appearance, countdown speed, chosen game mode and content packs);
  • the dares, truths and questions you write yourself ("My dares");
  • the wheels you create, their options and weights (where the edition includes them);
  • simple counters, such as how many rounds have been played, used only to decide when to show the system rating prompt.

This information is not transmitted to us and we cannot access it. It is removed when you delete the App. Depending on your device settings, your operating system may include app data in your own device backups (for example iCloud or Google backups); those backups are governed by Apple's or Google's privacy policies.

Finger positions on the screen are used only in the moment to run the game. They are not stored or sent anywhere.

3. Purchases

The App offers optional in-app purchases that unlock extra content and features.

  • Payment is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play under your store account. We do not receive or store your card details, name or billing address.
  • Purchase verification and restore are handled by our service provider RevenueCat, Inc. When you make or restore a purchase, RevenueCat processes your purchase history (what was bought and when), an anonymous app user identifier generated by the App, and basic technical information needed to talk to the store (such as app version, operating system and country/currency). We use this only to confirm your purchase, unlock the content and let you restore it on a new device. This information is not linked to your name or contact details by us, and it is not used for advertising or tracking.

4. Ratings and reviews

The App may occasionally ask whether you would like to rate it, using the rating prompt built into iOS or Android. That prompt is provided and controlled by Apple or Google; we do not receive any information from it beyond the public rating or review you choose to post.

5. What we do not do

  • We do not show ads and do not include advertising SDKs.
  • We do not use analytics or crash-reporting services.
  • We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and the App does not request the advertising identifier.
  • We do not access your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
  • We do not sell or rent personal information.

6. The Website (fingerchooser.com)

  • No cookies for tracking or analytics. The Website sets no tracking cookies and uses no advertising or analytics scripts, so no cookie banner is needed.
  • Tools run in your browser. The online finger chooser, the random team generator and the pickers in our guides run entirely on your device. Names and anything else you type are never sent to us or to anyone else, and they are not saved after you leave the page.
  • Hosting. The Website is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical data needed to deliver a page and keep the service secure (such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested) for a short time. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Store links. When you tap an App Store or Google Play button you leave the Website, and Apple's or Google's privacy policies apply. Our links may include a plain "came from fingerchooser.com" tag so the stores can show us how many people arrived from the Website; it contains nothing about you.
  • Email. If you write to us, we keep your message for as long as needed to answer it and for our records, and we use your address only to reply.

7. Children

The App and the Website are designed to be suitable for families, and the App's default content is written for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App has no accounts, chat or sharing features, and purchases require the store account holder's authorization (for example, through Apple's Ask to Buy or Google Play Family settings). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your choices and rights

  • You can delete everything the App stores on your device at any time by deleting your own dares and wheels in the App, or by deleting the App.
  • Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because we do not hold an account or profile for you, most requests can be met simply by deleting the App. For information processed by RevenueCat in connection with a purchase, contact us at support@fingerchooser.com and we will help you with your request, including asking RevenueCat to delete purchase records linked to your anonymous identifier.
  • We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, information related to purchases is processed to perform our contract with you (providing the content you bought) and for our legitimate interest in preventing fraud. Technical data processed by our web host is processed for our legitimate interest in running a secure website. Information stored only on your device is not processed by us.

10. Retention

On-device information stays until you delete it or delete the App. Purchase records processed by RevenueCat are kept as long as needed to provide restore functionality and to meet legal and accounting obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized according to RevenueCat's policies. Support emails are kept for as long as needed to help you and for our records.

11. Security and international transfers

We rely on the security of your device's app storage and on the encryption used by Apple, Google, Cloudflare and RevenueCat to transmit information. RevenueCat and Cloudflare may process information in the United States and other countries; where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

12. Changes to this policy

If the App's or the Website's features change in a way that affects your information (for example, if we add a new service), we will update this policy and the effective date above before the change takes effect. Significant changes to the App will also be highlighted in its release notes.
